Well, we are now back from our short trip to Virginia. We had a great time and managed to see some amazing wildlife, which was our number one aim.
We are not disappointed. We managed to see 16 black bears, including 8 gorgeous cubs as well as 43 deer, 1 muskrat, 1 fox, 1 snake, 3 groundhogs and many other animals such as chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels and a weasel type creature who remains unidentified.
Birds were also in plentiful supply having sighted many such as herons, turkey vultures, bluebirds, mockingbirds, hawks, eagles and even a very close up encounter with a red-tailed hawk.
All in all, we had a great trip and managed to travel through one province and five US states Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. In total, we travelled 4,500km and paid an average of $2.45 for a gallon of gas.
The trouble is now we are back, we want to travel again, so watch this space as we plan the next trip.
