Whilst looking into my family history, I have been looking back on some old photos that I have. Unfortunately, I don’t have very many, and those I do have are not in very good condition, so I decided to restore some.

This is a photo of my mum when she was approximately 19 years old (approx 1962). She died when I was only nine years old, so I treasure these photos and if I can make them look a bit better, then I will.

This is a scan of the original photo that I have. As you can see it is badly damaged with discolouration, folds and rips etc. Unfortunately, the folds are right in crucial areas of her face.

Well, I played around for a while in Photoshop and managed to get it looking much better. I am pretty pleased with the result, although I might still play around to try to get it a bit better. I am no expert by any means, but I think I did a pretty good job.

I have some more photos that I want to restore and also some of Chris’ family, so guess what I’ll be doing over the next few weeks!
