On our way back to Calgary from Vulcan we stopped off at a place called Nanton which is home to the Bomber Command Museum of Canada. The museum has an Avro Lancaster which is one of only 17 remaining in the world

The Avro Lancaster

It has lots more planes on show as well as lots of Air Force memorabilia, if that’s the right term.

Outside the museum is a lovely garden area where there are tables and chairs for picnics etc. There is also a beautiful memorial wall for all those Canadians who lost their lives, sadly both sides of this wall are covered with names.

Two more large planes can be seen outside the museum mounted on poles.

A very sobering place to visit.
